WMATA Meeting Locations Have Significantly Different Accessiblity

posted Mar 6, 2013, 4:57 PM by Info@ Transiters
In anticipation of WMATA's public meetings to discuss the Pershing Drive–Arlington Boulevard Line ((Routes 4A,B,E,H) Service Evaluation Study, we looked at the accessibility of the two locations where meeting will be held--Arlington VA Assembly of God Church at 4501 N PERSHING DR, ARLINGTON VA 22203-2710, and Arlington VA Temple United Methodist Church at 1835 N NASH ST, ARLINGTON VA 22209-1519. While as expected, neither location is as accessible by transit as by private vehicle, the Arlington Temple is significantly more accessible, with a Transit Accessiblity Index (TAI) of 1.7, compared to the Arlington Assembly of God Church, with a TAI score of 2.8. In other words, while transit riders will take half again as long to get to the Arlington Temple meeting compared to drivers, transit riders will take almost three times as long to get to the Arlington Assembly of God Church as will drivers. One way to improve the Assembly of God's score: increased frequency of the 4. Meeting schedule and more at http://www.Transiters.com/Calendar.
